Girl Diaper Bag

Finally a cute diaper bag for boy or girl!
Allen Ave. has created a line of diaper bags that I can find no fault in. The design of these bags is amazing! First of all they have created a look that is perfect for a boy or girl (if you don't like frilly stuff) and mom or dad can both happily carry the bag! I have struggled to find a boy friendly and dad friendly diaper bag that was functional.
Allen Ave. Cevan Metro Diaper Bags make it incredibly easy to find whatever you are searching for. The bag has numerous pocket and compartments to hold bottles or anything else you need to take along. It even has velco dividers that you can position to your preference or remove entirely. The bag is fully insulated and comes complete with a matching changing pad. Another thing I love is that the bag has two seperate roomy compartments. I think this would be really great to use with two children (you could keep their stuff organized by compartment) or you could use one side for mom/dad and one side for baby. The wide strap on this messenger styled bag makes toting the bag comfortable and it's easy to hook onto your stroller.
I really love the Cevan Metro Bag - it's also much more reasonably priced than it's competitors. The organizational features of this bag cannot be beat. My husband wants to steal it for his man-bag because he loves all the inner pockets. If you have been looking for a well thought out diaper bag to keep your gear easily accessible and that looks extremely hip - Allen Ave. has got you covered! Save 20% on any Cevan Metro bag you purchase from July 3 - July 31 when you enter the code NOWSAVE at checkout!!
You can win your own Cevan Metro Bag and in your choice of style. To enter the contest - visit Allen Ave.'s website and then click on the contact option at the top. This contest is a little different than the usual comment on this post instruction - this time we want to you to fill out the contact info on Allen Ave.'s site and leave a comment in their comment box telling them what your favorite color/style is and what you like best about their Cevan Metro Bags. Girl's Baby Doll Birthday Party Ideas
# Having a party for a little girl with a baby doll theme is quite easy. It's just a matter of taking the aspects of a regular birthday party and rethinking them to match your theme. Parties of this sort would be for girls, aged six to eight. Invitations should make it clear that this is a baby-doll themed party so that the invitees (and their parents!) know what to expect.
Decorations
# It should be fairly easy to buy baby doll decorations. For the birthday table, you can buy a tablecloth with a baby shower theme. Anything that says 'baby', or has baby rattles, pacifiers, etc. on the cloth should work. You can use something very similar for the presents table. If you don't have access to these items, then you can simply find pink or pastel colored decorations. As for cups, plates, etc. You can find them printed with a wide variety of baby-themed objects. At most party stores, you can find silverware, party hats, and party items all in similar colors. If you do not have easy access to a party store, there are usually similar items in your local grocery store.
Gift Bags
# One idea for gift bags, is to give each little girl a diaper bag with all the accouterments in miniature. You can find the miniature diaper bags in most stores, although a simple online search might be easier when it comes to comparing prices. Little Mommy, Baby Alive, and So Truly Real are all brands that have little-girl sized diaper bags. If you don't want to spend that much money, you can put these items in a simple gift bag. In keeping with the theme, finding a gift bag that could be used for a baby shower would be a good idea.
Gift Bag Items
# Filling each gift bag should be fairly inexpensive. Look for pacifiers, baby doll bottles, travel-sized items like baby powder and lotions, baby rattles, etc. Make sure that all of the items are sized for a little girl's baby doll instead of a real infant. You can make little cloth bibs or burp clothes out of fabric, or buy them if you're not handy with a sewing machine.
Cake
# Finding a baby-doll themed cake should be fairly easy. If you talk to your local cake-maker, you can easily find out of they can make them with that particular theme. A less expensive alternative would be to go ahead and buy or make your favorite cake, adding little plastic dolls to the top for decoration.
Games
# There are lots of party games that you can adapt for a baby doll theme. "Pin the Diaper on the Baby" would be easy to make. You could have a stroller race, that has all the girls divided into teams and racing with a stroller to a particular spot and back again. If you put baby dolls in the strollers you could have an added goal of making sure that the baby doesn't fall over or out of the stroller while the girls race. Another idea is to have an egg race. (Using hard-boiled eggs would be easier if the girls are closer to six than to eight.) Another game would be to have the girls bring their own favorite baby dolls to the party and allow them time to just play with them.

Packing A Diaper Bag
What you need when packing a diaper bag
If you are a new parent, you'll soon realize the importance of packing a well equipped unique diaper bag. As a mother of 5 I have found that packing the right items and essentials for your baby soon becomes a basic survival instinct. Below is a list of items broken down by baby age. This list will help you keep organized and prevent you from forgetting the essentials.
If you don't think little babies don't need much guess again!
Lets start with packing for new born babies
First the diapers: 3 or 4 if you are only out for a couple of hours. The general rule of thumb is one disposable diaper for every 2hours. I say disposable because you don't want a dirty cloth diaper in your bag on a hot day. (Been there won't do it again. You look kind of funny driving down the road with your head out the window.) Along with the diapers you will need baby wipes and some sort of diaper cream. One to two sets of cloths depending how long you are out. These are usually sleepers for newborns. At least 2 bibs, which are a life saver if they tend to spit up a lot.
Second: at least one receiving blanket and most likely two. They come in handy if you are nursing.
Third: A hat. I cannot stress enough about the importance of babies wearing a hat in hot and cold climates. Please protect their little heads and eyes from the sun and from the cold.
If you are not breast feeding then you will need a bottle or two. If they are old enough then add a soother.
If you are breast feeding then MAKE SURE you are carrying extra breast pads incase you spring a leak. With my first I learnt this lesson pretty fast. My husband and I went out for dinner for the first time without my baby. That was hard enough but when my breasts thought it was feeding time, ( I think they started to have a mind of there own) I was pretty embarrassed. I laugh now but it wasn't funny then.
Packing for babies 12 Months and Up
Toys and food are the main baby products here
Diapers again (yes I know you can hardly wait until they are out of them).
A couple of entertaining action toys, a small book are also good ideas. An entire change of clothes and a sleeper, (tired of doing laundry yet, I thought I was until my little babies turned into teenagers)
Don't forget the bottle if your baby is using one and the all important soother (it's been my experience that you will only forget this once).
Crackers and more baby cookies are good. Now is a good time to bring along the apple juice in a bottle. Extras plastic pants, and extra underwear if they are a little older, don't forget the socks and while you are at it an extra pair of baby shoes.
When babies start to get older, packing their bags is a little more personal. Each child may need something a little different. If you are still nursing then a couple or receiving blankets is still required. Also pack A change of clothes, Hat, toys: one quiet one and one baby toy that makes a little noise. Throw in a couple of baby cookies and add a couple more for yourself ( yes you do develop a taste for these little treats). You will still need 1 diaper for every two hours you are out. Extra socks, plus an extra pair of plastic pants if you use them, you will be surprised on how far it goes when it escapes the diaper.
You may think by now there is no way that you can fit all this stuff in a diaper bag. Sometimes if the trip is long you may need a very large tote bag. But you will be surprised at how good you get at packing your for your baby.
One thing I would like to mention here is never and I mean never let you husband pack the bag for you, you will regret it. Only the main care giver knows exactly what is needed and what surprises may come up. I hope you have found the information here helpful, although there probably are a few baby items that I have forgotten lets just hope you don't.
What to do with a designer diaper bag (the later years)
What you don't want to do is throw it away. Designer bags are pretty expensive especially the messenger bags. What you don't know is a lot of teenage girls are using these bags for school.
# If you don't own a good bag and would like to to choose a style go to bagcetera.com designer diaper bag.
All you need to do is clean your bag inside and out, put it away or give it to one of your nieces for school. These bags come into fashion all the time and are in great demand, most girls can't afford the designer styles, but because of the high quality these bags last for years. You don't even need to tell them what you used it for.
Most tote bags have good sturdy shoulder straps that are comfortable if the bag for carrying text books. They also have cell phone pouches and inner zipper compartments for personal id and other effects. Most diaper bags are big enough that they will hold most school books and then some. The messenger styles are big enough to fit large books and to be used as a bag to carry a laptop computer. They may even find that they can carry a small purse in them so they can leave the bag in a locker when not needing it.
If you own one of the diaperdude bags like one of the camo bags, they can be used for keeping tools in or even fishing tackle. Backpack styles can be used by anyone needing a backpack for a short hike or your kids can use them to pack lunches and water bottles when out on field trips for school.

Diaper bag essentials: What you really need to pack
Packing a diaper bag depends upon two things: the length of the trip and the age of the child. Many moms, new and old, make the mistake of packing everything but the kitchen sink.
A trip to the grocery store? Feed and change the baby before you leave; you don't really want to brave a public restroom with a baby and his gear if you don't have to, right? If your toddler still isn't potty trained, you should probably wait till after lunchtime and naptime as well - no one wants to take a cranky toddler on a shopping trip.
Suppose you decide to visit a friend for a couple of hours; in this case you may wish to pack a few toys, a bottle, and an extra diaper or two. You don't need jars of food and three pacifiers and an entire package of diapers - but don't forget the wipes, and perhaps a blanket for changing. Your toddler may need a snack, too.
If you're very brave and plan to be out and about, running errands for most of the day, of course that bag should be fully loaded. But really, for even a six- or eight-hour venture, you only need two bottles, maybe three diapers, and a few toys; older children, of course, will need a couple snacks not only for nutritional purposes, but for entertainment value. Don't forget the wipes, of course, and a blanket or two; and for that length of time you may wish to bring an extra outfit, just in case.
If, of course, you're going to be traveling farther than downtown or spending the day with friends or family, you may wish to bring a stroller to make getting about easier. You may also wish to invest in a port-a-crib, as holding a baby for lengthy periods can cause one's arms to shake and ache; besides, it provides a safe place for babies and toddlers alike to take their naps.
Many moms pack too much "stuff" for even the shortest trips around town; this not only weighs down the diaper bag, but one can run the risk of forgetting about jars and bottles and never returning them to the refrigerator. Pacifiers can become lost, cute outfits never see the light of day, and so forth. Babies are heavy, especially when strapped to a carseat - make things easier and pack lightly.
Seriously are you going to change your baby five times in a two-hour shopping trip? Why? Are you going to feed a baby, who normally has one bottle every four hours, four times during the afternoon? Plan ahead, and don't worry about running out of something; unless you're traveling to the far reaches of the Arctic, there will be convenience stores along your route

LARGE or OVERSIZED
If you are the lucky mom of twins, you will need a really unique and yes, LARGE or OVERSIZED baby bag. My friends with twin boys have recommmended the backpack style baby bags from One Step Ahead. This works and looks great for boys, but it just may not be as "cute" as you would like for a baby girl, so I would recommend (the drawback, it's blue and doesn't come in prissy baby girl pink) the Fleurville Mothership in Blue Chocolate! It's trendy, goes with lots of stuff and has TONS of room.
Some other choices for heavy packers or for long trips or vacations might be the Skip Hop Duo Double, the Silver Line Fling or something from Caden Lane.
The Skip Hop Duo Double is roomy is designed for organization and, if you should have a need to pack a lot, this diaper bag can handle the load. Both bags will attach to your stroller as well.
